Daniel Perez is Lying—Here’s the Truth About the "TRUMP Act"
Besides claiming he would get on Dave Rubin’s podcast to discuss the amnesty bill they’ve deceptively named the TRUMP Act Daniel Perez has now taken to Twitter to gaslight Floridians, pushing an outrageously dishonest narrative about Governor Ron DeSantis and immigration enforcement. He wants you to believe that DeSantis is “weak” on immigration while his version of the TRUMP Act is the “most conservative immigration bill in history.”
Let’s be clear: this is a bait-and-switch.
Perez and his establishment allies gutted the original enforcement proposals and replaced them with performative nonsense designed to sound tough but accomplish nothing. Their bill is political theater masquerading as policy, and it deliberately undermines DeSantis’ ability to enforce the law and aid Donald Trump and the Federal government in combatting illegal immigration. Forgive any typos as I’m writing on substack on my phone, but this needs to be called out.
🚨 LIE #1: “DeSantis is leaving out what Trump wants.”
🔹 FACT: Trump himself endorsed DeSantis’ proposals, which called for:
✔️ Mandatory law enforcement cooperation with ICE
✔️ Expanding the Unauthorized Alien Transport Program
✔️ Criminal penalties for illegal re-entry
✔️ Ending in-state tuition for illegal immigrants
✔️ Voter registration safeguards
💡 The TRUMP Act does NOT enhance cooperation with ICE—it weakens it by failing to mandate state and local compliance.
🚨 Who does that benefit? The donors who rely on illegal labor.
🚨 LIE #2: “The TRUMP Act gives Trump full control.”
🔹 FACT: This bill doesn’t give Trump anything. It’s a Florida state law, and it actively prevents the governor from fully enforcing it by handing enforcement authority to the Department of Agriculture instead of law enforcement.
💡 Why would you put immigration enforcement under the agency that regulates farmers? Because Perez and his allies don’t actually want it enforced.
🚨 This bill ensures that enforcement never actually happens. It’s a built-in loophole.
🚨 LIE #3: “The TRUMP Act delivers the harshest penalties in the nation.”
🔹 FACT: Harsh on paper means nothing if it’s unenforceable.
The bill fails to:
❌ Expand ICE detention beds (which Trump requested).
❌ Mandate local law enforcement cooperation (meaning sanctuary policies remain in effect).
❌ Enforce financial restrictions on remittances (so illegal immigrants can still send billions abroad).
❌ Strengthen gang enforcement beyond what’s already law.
💡 Perez’s bill is built for soundbites, not enforcement.
🚨 Harsh penalties mean nothing if no one is required to enforce them.
🚨 LIE #4: “The Governor doesn’t support these penalties.”
🔹 FACT: DeSantis supports real enforcement, not a legislative stunt.
DeSantis’ original proposals included:
✔️ A state crime for illegal entry, allowing local prosecution.
✔️ A mandatory law enforcement duty to detain and report illegal immigrants.
✔️ Voter fraud prevention that mandates proof of citizenship.
💡 Perez’s TRUMP Act removes the governor’s ability to enforce the law.
🚨 How exactly does that “support Trump’s agenda” when it actively weakens Florida’s ability to fight illegal immigration?
🛑 The Bottom Line: This is a Con Job
Daniel Perez is lying because he’s protecting the donors and lobbyists who don’t actually want strong immigration enforcement.
The TRUMP Act isn’t serious policy—it’s a fraudulent branding exercise designed to fool conservatives into thinking Florida is leading on immigration when in reality, it’s gutting real enforcement.
DeSantis called them out because he understands that the rule of law matters. Perez and his allies are hoping voters are too distracted by marketing buzzwords to see what’s really happening.
But now? You know the truth.
🚨 Call your representatives and demand REAL enforcement. The Florida Legislature is trying to play you. Don’t let them get away with it.
